Band Bio

Since their debut at The White Eagle in Portland Oregon in 2013, Ghosts Like Us has cultivated an ever evolving sound with roots straddling soul, electronic and alternative influences. The group was co-founded by singer-songwriter Matthew Gailey and Peter Lance, a local composer and guitarist after the two musicians collaborated on Gailey's 2013 solo debut EP Beast in Babylon which received a staff pick from Oregon Music News. The group appears most often as a duo but has steadily morphed into a collective of musicians and most recently collaborated with bassist Sam Hallam, organist Jeff Simonson and drummer Charles Neal on a studio  recording project due out in early 2017.

Gailey, a natural born crooner with a gospel, jazz and rock background, has shared the stage with a number of Portland musicians and bands including the Portland Cello Project in a concert version of Radiohead's OK Computer at the Aladdin and opened for Pink Martini's China Forbes for NW Film Center's annual gala.

Ghosts Like Us has been featured at local events including BMW Motorfest Northwest's annual vintage car festival and benefit for the Oregon Food Bank, Portland Monthly Magazine's "Light a Fire" awards dinner at the Portland Art Museum and a community event for Weiden Kennedy Center. The group can also be found playing their favorite local haunts including The White Eagle, Alberta Street Pub and The Secret Society.
